Position Title:            Shift Supervisor
Reports to:                 SITE SUPERVISOR
Compensation:          $19.65 / hour (Base Wage) + 4.41 / hour (H&W)
Benefits:                     10 paid holidays and 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of service

Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Site Supervisor, this is single Shift Supervisor leadership function charged with providing oversight of shift operations on a major federal security program in Boston, MA.  This individual shall be responsible for overall shift activities and shall serve as the central point of contact in the absence of the Site Supervisor. This individual shall have had at least 3 years of administrative and/or supervisory experience in security or law enforcement administration and operations in the armed forces/ military security police or civilian security operations. The nature and extent of this experience shall be such that the individual is familiar with and capable of effectively supervising shift operations on a complex federal security program. This individual shall have a secret clearance. The employee may work with an interim clearance until the formal clearance is received.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidate shall have at least five (3) years supervisory experience managing an armed guard workforce on a federal level security program.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (Suitability or Secret Clearance)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (writing sample may be required)
  • Ability to function as a self-sustained Site Supervisor with corporate support, but minimal supervision
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook also required
  • Ability to follow directions and perform multiple tasks under pressure; Tasks must be performed effectively, simultaneously, under strict deadlines and in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must possess reliable transportation to commute to job site, perform field work and ad-hoc regional job-related travel, as deemed necessary.
  • Instructor certifications are a plus
General Security Duties:
  • Performs all duties outlined in post orders for Special Police Officer
  • Provides oversight of the day to day shift operations of a major federal security program.
  • Provides guidance to uniformed personnel to include officers and team leads.
  • Maintains all security-related equipment utilized in the performance of security duties during assigned shift
  • Maintains possession of site-designated communications equipment and dispatches security personnel and/or responds to incidents and/or emergencies, as deemed necessary.  
  • Liaison with key corporate support staff, along with key client personnel while conducting job duties in accordance with the performance requirements of contract.
  • Keep records and prepare accurate and timely reports both manually and through automated methods.  Reports include, but are not limited to daily activity logs, shift reports, incident/accident reports, etc.
  • Generates disciplinary actions for employee violations
  • Coordinates required resources with support functions for effective management of operations

Operational Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Candidate must have previous, verifiable, physical security-related supervisory experience; preferably supervising a midsize workforce in a 24/7 operation.
  • Demonstrated ability interpret Post Orders, along with policies and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (writing sample may be required)
  • Ability to function as Lead Supervisor with corporate support, but minimal supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays as requested or required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Position requires a personable individual who is capable of professionally relating to individuals at all levels and from all backgrounds.
  • Ability to learn multiple systems and processes in a brief period, and demonstrate productivity
  • Ability to follow directions and perform multiple tasks under pressure; Tasks must be performed effectively, simultaneously, under strict deadlines and in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Must possess reliable transportation to commute to job site and perform field work, as deemed necessary.
