Position Title:            Supervisory Electronic Security Technician 
Reports to:                 Director of Operations
Compensation:          To be commensurate with experience and skills

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
  • Provide leadership to a team of Electronic Security Technicians while performing security installations that include Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Detection Alarm Systems
  • Manage projects to deliver successful implementations by meeting project requirements and adhering to industry and company standards
  • Coordinate with finance department to ensure availability of funds for acquisition of materials and equipment
  • Manage project staffing and resource labor hours, to include collecting and reviewing timesheets and allocating labor tasks
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics
  • Participate in on-site progress meetings and provide updates to corporate management
  • Identify risks and provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most time and cost-efficient methods
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems
  • Inspect quality of finished projects to ensure conformation of all specifications and requirements
  • Program and test installed security systems and provide orientation to customers as necessary
  • Support business development function during project bidding processes to ensure all costs associated with labor and materials are effectively captured.
  • Remain proficient with newly released products, upgrades and software programs related to low voltage systems
  • Maintain compliance with prevailing OSHA regulations and enforce use of protective equipment at project locations, as required
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The success candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • 5+ years of expert experience in commercial Access Control, CCTV, Intercom and Intrusion Detection Alarm Systems
  • Experience with Structured Cabling, Emergency Call, Intercom and/or Audio Visual Systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend a blueprint and Statement of Work to design favorable security solutions based on predetermined specifications
  • Demonstrated ability through experience to install and troubleshoot CCTV (analog and IP based; Pelco, Axis, Honeywell), Access Control (GE, Keyscan, Door King) and Intrusion Detection (GE, Honeywell, Ademco) systems
  • Knowledge of connector termination and relay configurations
  • Knowledge of mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electric strikes and magnetic locking devices; and peripheral devices (motion sensors, RTE, push buttons and contacts)
  • Knowledge of programming and training onsite client personnel in numerous Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection system features and functionality
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Internet and Networking on commercial systems
  • Ability to lead and direct subordinate personnel through project completion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to function independently or as key member within a team environment
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to locations within the National Capital Region
  • Proficient in industry standards for ADA and building safety codes
  • Must have a favorable driving record and background check, along with successfully passing a 5-point drug test
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to crawl through confined spaces
  • Ability to climb and function on elevated positions (lifts and ladders)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and raise objects overhead
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess a High School Diploma
  • Must be able to communicate (read and write) in the English language
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions
  • B.I.C.S.I. certification highly desirable, but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is a plus
 
NOTE: The Supervisory Electronic Security Technician is a 1099 Hourly position.
